The Alien Isolation - Part 1

This year, October is a very good month for lovers of horror. First we were afraid Alien: Isolation from the first person, and now has arrived and The Evil Within to do the same, just from a third party. Luckily, we at HCL we love to fear, especially when playing games Shinjia Mikamia. Mr. Mikami has worked on a lot of good games, but is best remembered as the Resident Evil series or Dino Crisis. Basically, the guy knows his horror and in support of his claim is the fact that after his last Resident Evil game, the legendary foursome, the series completely astray and became a kind of mockery.

Now, Mikami has brought together a new team in the studio Tango Gameworks and decided to repeat its success in the survival horror genre. If you ever played any of the game, you will immediately notice his "signature" The Evil Within. That's what he obviously not ashamed, as evidenced by numerous direct references to his previous game.

But when you remove that silly grin on his face that cause various reminders, you realize you are passing up without experiencing it properly. It's just hard to connect with the characters or held an interest in the action, which itself is complicated enough. The main character, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners Joseph and Kidman after arriving at the brutal crimes somehow find themselves in an alternate version of reality and try to meet again. Or so it seems on the first ball.

Unfortunately, Sebastian is a terrible bore. Through a variety of documents from the beginning you learn some background stuff about his difficult past, which is a good foundation for a strong character, but on screen he was totally devoid of any emotional reactions and nearly torn from happening. Joseph and Kidman show a little more life, but constantly jump into action and then suddenly out of it so that at times you forget that they exist at all.

Before I came to the half of the game but I was completely numb to most of the details in the story and focused on just playing. I'm sorry it is so because the story has its plot and denouement which teem with potential, and the atmosphere is brilliant, thanks to smart design level, both visually and conceptually. The idea unstable reality cooperating well with excellent sound and visual effects and soundtrack. The environment is very fast and unexpected changes from dark woods and abandoned castle to the cold tomb, daylight in the city or dilapidated laboratories. Just when you learn your environment, and you start to feel some sort of security, the game you smoothly move into a completely different atmosphere, more beautiful and creepier than before.
